A donation to the Nos Kasa Center from The Resort Group
We love giving back to the community, especially at this time of the year. So, we were more than happy to help the Nos Kasa Centre.
They do great work there – it’s a project of the Cape Verdean Institute that helps children and teenagers in need or out on the street. In fact, their motto says it all.
“Children out of the street, inside the school”
They operate on a limited budget so Director Aldir Duarte, and his amazing resourcefulness, always impresses us. The shelter itself is too small for everything they do –75 children are housed into a small room where Aldir supports them by giving breakfast and lunch and helping with schoolwork. The center also supports families within their own homes. It’s incredibly important work.
The children recently had their annual Christmas party so The Resort Group got involved to donate food to the event. We were very happy to hear back that everybody had a fantastic time.
The Nos Kasa Center is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
