The Foundation was delighted to sponsor the Pink Power Club walk that took place on Sunday October 16th on Sal Island. The 18km walk in aid of Breast Cancer was organised by Dr Lidiane as part of “Pink October” (Outubro Rosa) awareness campaign on Sal Island.
Starting from Espargos at 6am, 40 women participated and walked through Santa Maria, finishing at MELIÃ Dunas Beach Resort & Spa, where they enjoyed a well deserved lunch followed by an educational presentation covering information about Breast Cancer and the importance of self examination. After an engaging Q&A, the ladies met with the Foundation’s president Analita Fernandes Das Neves and were able to relax and enjoy the hospitality of the Resort for the remainder of the afternoon.
Analita commented “We need to raise awareness for breast cancer among women in Cape Verde and support the education program for girls in school. We are delighted to support such an important cause and thanks to the actions of The Pink Power Club, we aim to make a difference”
